The PSATC Executive Committee meet in late June, 2024 at the Historic Lancaster Arts Hotel in Lancaster as part of PSATC’s continuing efforts to move forward various initiatives.
The Board had an interactive presentation by Lancaster City Council Member Ahmed Ahmed, who also serves as General Manager of the Lancaster Arts Hotel, on how the hotel’s adaptive reuse from a Tobacco Warehouse helped spark a rebirth and revitalization of the City of Lancaster.
Approved at the meeting was a by-law change, to be voted on at the October General Membership meeting, to modernize meeting and approval authority allowing for Executive Committee meetings to be attended remotely and enabling the board to officially authorize matters.
Also the Executive Committee voted to approve an update to its century old logo that is reflective of the PSATC’s focus on empowering first class leadership in Pennsylvania local government.
PSATC Executive Committee also toured the Clipper Magazine Stadium, home of the Lancaster Stormers Baseball Team, and discussed this important economic development project than drives a successful rejuvenation effort. Seattle Mariners baseball great Trayvon Robinson who serves as the Stormers Hitting Coach took time from his schedule to meet with the PSATC Leadership and discuss how teamwork continues to drive success in organizations.
Stadium General Manager and Barnstormer President Mike Reynolds provided an in depth look on how this public private partnership has lead the stadium to be named one of the best in its class in the United States. Reynolds discussion centered on how the Stadium engages the community has become a centerpiece in the Lancaster region and home to over 300 events annually.
