East Pennsboro Township, Cumberland County, PA is seeking a highly qualified and motivated professional to serve as Township Engineer. This is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing engineering-related functions in a dynamic First-Class Township community of over 21,000 residents.
Position Summary
The Township Engineer performs a wide range of managerial and professional engineering duties requiring independent judgment, technical expertise, and strategic decision-making. The position is responsible for the review, coordination, and approval of engineering plans and projects, while advising Township officials on infrastructure, development, and regulatory matters.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and approve subdivision, land development, and construction plans for compliance with Township ordinances and applicable regulations
- Oversee public infrastructure projects including roads, stormwater systems, utilities, and capital improvements
- Ensure compliance with PennDOT, DEP, and other federal, state, and local regulations
- Assist in the development of policies, procedures, and long-term infrastructure planning
- Inspect construction projects and ensure adherence to approved plans and specifications
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field (Master’s preferred)
- Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania (required)
- Minimum of 5–10 years of progressively responsible engineering experience, preferably in municipal or public sector work
- Strong knowledge of Pennsylvania municipal codes, land development processes, and public infrastructure systems
Compensation & Benefits
East Pennsboro Township offers a competitive salary $100k – $125k commensurate with experience, along with a comprehensive benefits package including health insurance, retirement plan, and paid time off.
